The Board of Directors of the DC Capital Area Branch of IDA Invite you to support the IDA by donating and/or joining us in our virtual walk in Participation as the DC Capital Area Team in the TeamQuest Marathon Event.
Join Us to Support Our DCIDA Runners at the San Diego Half Marathon.
Until Everyone Can Read
An easy 2.7 mile Walk to Georgetown along the towpath to celebrate our commitment to appropriate reading instruction for all.
Funds raised with TeamQuest will go to raising awareness of dyslexia, to funding in-service training in evidence-based reading instruction for teachers and to support advocacy efforts for screening and appropriate instruction for those students who struggle with reading and language.

Where: Fletcher's Cove, 4940 Canal Road NW Washington DC
Parking is available. Approach from the south on Canal Road or take MacArthur Blvd and turn toward the river on Reservoir Road. Proceed down to the river at the light and turn into Flethcer's Cove.
Pickup Point: District Doughnuts in Cady's Alley, Georgetown or return to Fletcher's Cove by foot.
Join us for a half day of practice with an assessment tool which will demonstrate specific strengths and weaknesses in a student's decoding skills.

September 10, Elaine Cheesman, will present her nationally known presentation on iPad Apps for Literacy. March 11, 2017 our annual conference will feature Julie Washington Ph.D. who will speak on Addressing the Needs of a Diverse Population and Developing Academic Language in All Students.
